16 KM TREK TO KEDARNATH
Kedarnath is one of the religions place in Uttarakhand.
Kedarnath is the temple of Lord Shiva
.The most popular char dham yatra also
includes this temple. It is around 3584 mts above sea level at the foot hills
of Himalayan peaks.The best time to trek the Kedarnath temple is around 4am . The trek of Kedarnath starts from
Gaurikund and ends at Kedarnath temple which is around 16 kilmeters. Earlier it
was 14 kilmeters trek but due to flood
disaster which took place in the year 2013
all the ways to Kedarnath temple got destroyed
previously the trek was from Rambara
to Kedarnath which was 14 km. It was
well fenced , well developed trek but
after the flood all the trek got
destroyed .
Now, the new trek is followed by the
people which is from Gaurikund to Kedarnath.
Gaurikund temple is dedicated to goddess Parvati, also known as Gauri . Their is famous Gauri kund Lake which is very famous in hindu religion the most unique thing about
Gaurikund Lake is that it has hot water
spring people use take bath into it after
that people use to continue
their journey to Kedarnath trek .But after the flood of 2013
comparatively only small part of that lake is left in which
people take bath nowadays .
There at Gaurikund you need to take
/buy a raincoat because it rains most of
the at Kedarnath and bag to carry your stuff. Its has a small but good market . While going to Gaurikund you will observe the beauty of nature , scenic or beautiful are
the words less justified for this place, the calmness and essence of the atmosphere
around it. People cheer up each other by saying Jai Bhole . Most the roads/the way is covered by the
local people our rather the local vendors .
After completing the 4 km trek you will reach
to the Village called Chatti through
Rambara Bridge. After completing this
distance , on the way to Kedarnath you will see their is proper
arrangement of sitting and having tea and coffee .The vendors sells products
related to god and other worshiping things . Here the nature itself tells its
beauty , the huge huge mountain covered with snow ,the capering of birds , the peace full environment
. The local their are very helpful and gentle they will tell you the history behind Kedarnath ,people will also tell you about the disaster which took
place in Kedarnath in the year 2013 . People are
still struggling to bring their life back to normal so that trek to Kedarnath can be reopen and people again can enjoy the beauty of nature and worshiping
of Lord Shiva .
After completing the trek of Chatti Village you will reach to Bheembali
which is around 3 kilometers from the Chatti
Village . In between the trek will see various temples . The tent and hut
facilities is also available in the trek
between Chatti village to Bheembali. If you are unable to reach Kedarnath on
the same day you can stay at Bheembali.In Bheembali their various hotels and
guest house which has well furnished room with proper room heating facilities . After completing Bheembali
trek you will reach to Linchauli which is 4 kilmeters trek . You see lot of People riding on horse , hundred’s of horse/mule help the tourist to reach Kedarnath by
carrying them on their back . Mule
also carry people on their back to the
temple and they also carry luggage of
the people and the daily needs things of
the local people who live in Kedarnath .After covering the distance of 4 km of
Linchauli to Kedarnath you will reach to Kedarnath Base camp . Camp ‘s are arranged by the Kedarnath society
where you can sit and relax your body. Here
you will listen a very pleasant sound of
temple bells .The sound of
ringing bells and Bhajan satisfy the soul of tourist. The happiness of
reaching the Kedarnath temple is seen on the smiling faces of people. .The
Kedarnath temple is only 1 km far from Kedarnath Base camp .With full
enthusiasm and joy people continue their journey to Kedarnath temple as they
are now just 1 km away for their
destination .
After completing the last km you will
see lots of vendors selling Prasad. The feeling of satisfaction and relaxation
of completing the journey of 16 km trek is seen on the happy faces of the
people. When you finally reach the Kedarnath temple you will find that it looks more beautiful . The temple is
decorated with beautiful flowers,
twinkle lights and other decorative things.
If you will reach at temple during
the time of Aarti you will
observe the real beauty of temple and how beautiful the temple looks with twinkle lighting ,the ringing of bells ,
people enjoying Aarti with clapping and
by saying Jai Bhole . The Aarti and ringing
of temple bells will bring lots of positivity in the mind and heart of people they feel relax and enjoy full in the
arti .
