SIDHBALI TEMPLE

ABOUT - Kotdwara is  located at the foot hills of Shivliks . Kotdwara is the gateway of Garhwal. The city has railways station and  nearest state border of  Uttar Pradesh .Kotdwara is the eighth largest city in Uttarkhand . Kotdwara  came under the district of Pauri Garhwal. The city is rich in culture  , music , land, dance , are an integral part.  The  city has well developed road network which cover all most  whole garhwal. In kotdwara thera  is very famous temple namely shri sidhbali temple which  is only 2 km away from the  main city.

 Shri Sidhbali Temple is located   near river  Khoh . Sidhbali Temple is the  historical temple of Lord Hanuman at the outskirt of kotdwara .   In the temple premises you will see  two  natural pindi ( statue of stone ) one is of Lord Hanuman and other is of Guru Gorkhnath . The statue of Lord Hanuman was established later . It is one of the most visited   place in kotwara .  Most of the times   the temple is filled with  Sadiu and  Saints . The temple is full of  positivity and devotion towards Lord Hanuman . Hundreds of believers /  tourist  visit the temple  all around the year.  The Sidhbali temple has a tradition of  bhandara   for the tourist and the local people .Halwa is served as a parshand in  bhandara  . The Sidhbali Temple is very  peacefull and spiritual place .You will see huge mountain , floating of river , chirping of birds  

 The Grand Sidhbali Mela is held in the month of December every year at the temple  .   Mela  held for three days continuously . Hundreds of visitors  come to visit the temple duing   the time of Mela .  The Temple is decorated  one week prior before the Mela with lots of real flowers and twinkle lights and other statue of gods . The Temple looks very beautifull especially at night time. The first day of Mela  starts form the evening when ‘’ Jaki ‘’ starts from Temple  to the main city  . Other day  Moring till evening the  huge crowd came to listen the Garhwali Bajna from the local / Garhwali singers. And on the last day at early  Moring   around 100 kilos of rot is made  as a parshad and in afternoon the bajna is again arranged for the people specially in hindi .

      The main city kotdwara is also decorated during the time of Mela . The  local also enjoy the Mela as a Festival . During the time of Sidhbali Mela the Schools , Collages , Coaching insutites remains close as per the   orders of government  .

 History-

The history of Sidhbali Temple  is as  old as old  Ramyan . The most famous / popular scene in Ramyan when Lord Laxman got faint from the arrow and all the people got worried.  The local Ved  asked Lord Humanan to bring  Sanjeevi from the himalayas.During the  search of Sanjeevi Lord humanan felt thirsty and he was unable to find  any  source of water .so Lord humanan decided to shoot a  arrow in the ground .The power of that arrow was so powerful that it made a hole in the ground and water present under the ground came up with that hole . Lord huimanun drank that water and continue the search of Sanjeevi .Afterwards that hole became a complete river .and people constructed a temple of lord humsnan behind that river .
